What Are Your Thoughts On Being Able To Take The Little Ones To T-ball While Going Through Chemo.
As long as you're feeling up to it. I would say try to live your life as normal as you can. When I first started my therapy my boys were 8, 6 and 4 years old. There were many activities including soccer, baseball, and school activities that I wanted to be a part of. Also they wanted me to be there and I wanted to keep life normal for them. It's been a year since my diagnosis and I'm done with chemo and radiation. My hair is growing and my boys carried on life as if nothing happened. Cancer is horrible but it doesn't have to change the quality of your families life experiences. Best wishes for the road ahead and know that you will come out of this stronger and more beautiful than you were before.
I would check with the oncologist for the numbers, I have analyzed some reasons for my frequent bouts of bronchitis and it has come down to enclosed areas without fresh air, movie theatre, planes etc, just wanted to share...
I'm down with normal and agree w/Janesurvivor. BUT, please wear a hat, and long sleeves. You must protect yourself from the sun and I don't mean maybe. Sun and chemo DO NOT play well together. Other than that, be normal whenever/wherever possible.
Yes - you can't live in a bubble. They will bring germs home from Daycare that are worse that most things you would encounter at an outdoor event like T-ball. If you wanted to be extra safe, don't sit in bleachers, bring your own chair. The fresh air is good, you need to get out there and not think about what you are going thru all the time. I did tell my 3 kids that they couldn't play fall sports this year because I work, and can't handle all the commuting around, and sports season overlap. However, my two boys play hockey and that starts in September. I plan on being there anytime I can...I will be armed with hand sanitizer, and a warm hat for my bald head =)
My oncologist said I can't live in a bubble so I went to my son's hockey games. It's mostly going to depend on how you feel.
