AC gave me some afib right after chemo. I have a heart murmur and slight afib before BC. Get a second opinion if you are concerned. Now that I am on Taxol I don't have the problem.

I had 4 AC treatments followed by 12 weekly paclitaxel treatments and 30 radiation treatments. Cancer free! But now I'm in heart failure. I'm taking Coreg and entresto. Its been over a month but no significant improvement. My cardiologist thinks it's from adriamycin and if my heart function doesn't improve, I will need a pacemaker😢

In September of 2013 I had congestive heart failure where my heart contraction went down to 4%, where as a normal percentage is 55% or higher. My chemo treatment consisted of 12 weeks of Taxol once every 4 weeks thru an IV with a daily investigational study drug of Neratinib which was orally that I started March of 2012 which lasted through early June of 2012. Then I had the Adryamicin and Cytoxal which was once every 3 weeks starting in June of 2012 through August of 2012. I had a double mastectomy in November 2012. Started Tamoxifen in January 2013 then I started Herceptin IV in March 2013 which was once every 3 weeks. After 7 treatments of the Herceptin I had heart failure and was in the hospital for almost a month. So now no more Herceptin but I have been on Tamoxifen for a year now. Don't really know what caused the heart failure but Doctors think it was the Herceptin. Has anyone else had heart failure and is being done to correct it if anything?

I have QT intervals on my EKG. They are mild and tamoxifen causes it. Went to specialist and said just get EKG yearly and they will compare.

Also you may want to see a naturopathy that can provide supplements to protect your kidneys, help with side effects, and supplements for long term heart health. I am much more comfortable after going! See if there is one where you are getting treatment or a referral to one that deals with cancer patients. Either way, they have some great individualized plans. May insurance companies cover them, just make sure they one you want is on your plan. Even if they are not its worth it.
