My breast surgeon took 31 lymph nodes and only one came back confirmed for cancer. I didn't need chemotherapy or radiation treatments.

My nodes tested positive for 13 out of 16 and my Dr jumped right on another chemo. I had already done chemo for a yr prior to surgery and had made up my mind that I would not do it again. ANYTHING, just please God, NO MORE CHemo! It's a hard decision, but luckily for me my Dr agreed that there was no research supporting the use of another chemo. I am on Herceptin every 3 wks and Arimidex daily and it seems to be working for me (still have to do radiation). Do whatever you think is right for you but be sure to discuss it with your Dr regarding statistical advantages or lack there of. Good Luck to You and may Angels watch over You and Yours.

The Oncotype test determine whether I needed chemo or not. My number was low, 13, came back chemo wouldn't be beneficial. I only needed surgical intervention.

when ever you have positive lymph nodes no matter what type of cancer you have, you must have chemo, to elimimate the spreading of cancer.

@A MyBCTeam Member thank you for this advice. I have had chemo before for another cancer and I am certainly not looking forward to it again!
