My team chose to do Chemo before surgery. My surgery was 7 months after diagnosis.

For me, it took 4 days to get a diagnosis and 5 more days to get on the operating table, because of scheduling difficulties in the local hospitals (I could only bump ahead of people who were not in such a precarious health position as me). Waiting 9 days moved me from stage 1 to stage 4 because I had an unusually aggressive form of the cancer. Sooner is better.

For me it was 4 weeks. That can vary widely, though. I have learned that waiting a month is not going to change anything with cancer growth and treatment, usually. I kind of wished I had more time to think about it, read about it, prepare for what I would go through, look like, etc. I felt rushed and that made me feel out of control. So sorry for your news. You know you can count on your sisters here for support though!

Seems like about a month or so. I like that, no waiting around really...just get it done and move on from there :) Thanks all for your answers.

Typically it's 3 weeks to a month. Please don't rush. Take the time to get second opinions and carefully build your medical team.
