Margaret, this is a good question for your oncology team. They know your stage, which protocols you have been on, how well they have worked, how successful past surgeries have been, the results of all imaging, lab work, and any co-exisiting conditions, and current overall physical health
I remember you going through chemo but I don't recall you mentioning your Stage, Stage and Grade are two different things! My Stage for HER2+ was Stage 2- still considered an early stage, but my Grade (how aggressive) was a 3, which is the highest grade. To get a Grade 3, you have to have a combined score of 7-9 from three characteristics of the cancer cells. The radiologist told me mine was a 9 and looking for extra credit! But here I am, 6 years out of treatment, and so far-so good.
Keeping you in prayers! Hugs!
We all ask that question when we are diagnosed. I didn't ask because I was offered the information by my surgeon. Five years was mentioned, to be honest I thought my surgeon was crazy as I felt great, even though i had stage 3 grade 3 ILC. It will be 2 years in September and proud to say NED! Think positive, pray and never ever give up!!
Having family for support is so special. I'm so sorry you are not feeling well. This is not the life any of us planned for! It's never ending appointments and tests. It can really get you down. Try to just get thru 1 day at a time. Take any support offered to you. And rest as much as you can. Drinking a lot of water also helped a little. We are all here for you anytime. Hugs, Lee
I'm so sorry you are going through so much. I did not have a problem with radiation other than tiredness. I was having radiation 2 times daily and chemo weekly. I rested a lot and I had family helping with meals. Do you have family close by that is helping with transportation and meals. That is a big help.
