Be sure to get vitamin D3 with K2. The K2 deposits the calcium directly to your bones otherwise it can end up in your arteries. It comes together in one pill.

I take OsteoForce by Designs for Health. I had seen something advertised, and asked the PCP about it- she recommended the OsteoForce instead, as it did not contain one ingredient that was in the other one that she said there was some concern with- and it was less expensive than the one I had been leaning towards.

It's great that you're being proactive about bone health! Bone loss is a real concern for many people going through breast cancer treatment, especially with hormone therapies like aromatase inhibitors.
Some commonly discussed supplements for bone support include:
- Calcium – essential for maintaining bone density
- Vitamin D – helps your body absorb calcium effectively
- Magnesium – supports bone structure and calcium metabolism
- Collagen – some MyBCTeam members have reported relief from joint and bone-related symptoms, though research is still limited Your concern about jaw and teeth problems is valid. Certain bone-strengthening medications prescribed for bone loss (like bisphosphonates or denosumab) can rarely cause a condition called osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ), where jawbone tissue breaks down. Symptoms can include:
- Jaw pain
- Loose teeth
- Infection
- Jawbone visible through gums
It's recommended to see a dentist before starting any bone-related treatments if possible. One important caution — research has shown that taking supplements during breast cancer treatment can sometimes lead to worse outcomes. Before adding or continuing any supplements, it's really worth having a detailed conversation with your oncologist to make sure everything you're taking is safe alongside your current treatment plan.
