I have fibrocyatic breast disease which is annoying but not a big deal to me, however with familial cancer and hormonal fluctuations always being watched yearly thankfully, my reason for being here I've warned others who have been diagnosed, but I like first hand opinions on awareness on what should be said vs not and relevant tips, when I warned people if we were men are boobs are like our balls they didn't get it until they did! How can you effectively raise breast cancer awareness and what tips should you share with others, especially given your family history and fibrocystic breast disease?

It's great that you're helping raise awareness! Your analogy about breasts being as important to check as testicles is spot-on and clearly resonates with people.

Here are key awareness tips to share:

What to emphasize:
- Any nipple discharge when not breastfeeding needs medical attention, whether it's clear, bloody, or watery
- New lumps that feel different from surrounding tissue should be checked, even if breasts are naturally lumpy
- Changes in breast appearance, nipple shape, or skin texture warrant a doctor visit
- Family history matters - encourage people with breast cancer in their family to discuss genetic testing with their doctor

Important context to provide:
- Negative genetic testing doesn't eliminate risk, just means average risk or possibly a different gene mutation
- Early detection through regular screening is one of the best ways to catch cancer when it's most treatable
- Symptoms can vary widely between people

Given your family history and fibrocystic breasts, continuing your yearly monitoring is exactly right. Your personal experience makes your awareness efforts even more valuable to others.
