@A MyBCTeam Member, no apologies necessary, we're all entitled to our opinions. I've done enough research on certain things, mammogram in this case, that i won't subject myself to again. I urge everyone to research, there's a wealth of life saving info that's not shared with us.
My surgeon has prescribed a mammogram in six months followed by MRI six months later then repeat the next five years at least. She wants my breasts imaged twice a year. I’m very happy with that protocol because if this comes back, I want to catch it early again. 🙏 🤞
Hi @MyBCTeam users... @stacyloweThank you for your responses.
I got a call back from the breast center. They advised that the standard is to wait at least 6 months after your lumpectomy or last day of radiation to get your first follow up mammogram. If you have any problems within that 6 month waiting period and need diagnostic they can do an ultrasound. She explained this waiting period allows radiation-induced changes to the breast tissue to subside, and recover thereby improving image accuracy.
Ps:Manju, thanks for the info on the radiation cream.
Also the lotion they give you isn’t the best. i had to do some research and found radiation lotion that was amazing which was purchased on amazon do keep the area well moisturized. Radiation relief cream by derma vitality.
