I used to be a belly sleeper, but the double mastectomy killed that. Have had to sleep on my back ever since then. I also have a bad lower back so I need my knees raised or my back will go out. Later on after the DIEP and partial nephrectomy surgeries I can't have my upper body lying flat either. Luckily I had a hospital style Tempurpedic bed which works perfectly when I am home. When I travel via car and stay in hotels I have a wedge that I bring along and use pillows under my knees. When I go visit my dad I will sleep in his recliner cause he lives across the country and the wedge doesn't travel well if you're not driving to your destination.

Hi BC friend. I have not but I need one and am not terribly interested in the off-gassing that goes with mass produced mattresses, however the very expensive eco mattresses are, as far as I can tell, platform beds. We have a frame and a new box spring. Conundrum

I think I will be buying one in either December or January so I can just buy it after I have my medical insurance in place.

I love the Tempurpedic mattreses. The most comfortable in the world. You don’t need the high-end models. Just the “basic” one is awesome

I had purchased the adjustable platform frame and new mattress a year before I was diagnosed with IDC. It was a life saver to me for recovery. I still used my heart shaped pillows under each arm. If you have a recliner, it will do the same. After my purchase of a new mattress, I found that I could have kept my other mattress and it would have worked fine. The adjustable platform frame makes a difference. I had a double mastectomies in April of this year.
