I had Hodgkins 20 years ago and had mini-mantle radiation to mediastinal and cervical nodes. This year diagnosed with breast cancer. Ended up with single mastectomy to avoid more radiation. Looking for advice on other breast…was going to get reduction to make more symmetric but now thinking prophylactic mastectomy? Wondering anyone else with prior mini-mantle rather than full mantle—what did you do? Thank you.
I had the single mastectomy as a way to avoid radiation, and since there was not any genes identified for me as a risk for additional cancers, I opted to just stay flat on the one side, and use a prosthetic. I just pop it into the bra pocket for symmetry and roll with my life! Hugs!
