I had AC too. The color is red, but thought if it as the red angel, because it saved my life.
It is a harder chemo, but doable. And it is only 4 doses.
Increased fatigue and nausea were my biggest symptoms. The fatigue was very predictable. I would be wiped for 2 days. I worked third shift as an inpatient nurse, never called in. I tried to walk daily, and worked hard at staying hydrated. They gave me Zofran for nausea. It did help. Never vomited.
I really think attitude is everything. Yes, this is not fun, but it is temporary.
Drink as much water as you can, eat what you can, sleep when you need to, be as active as possible and let your team know if you are struggling.
Wishing you well!

Yes ma'am I had 5 rounds of the dreaded Red Devil. The Devil himself made this drug no doubt. It's horrible and my side effects were extreme nausea I mean extreme. I never threw up but man it was nasty. Diarrhea and it takes it toll on your for sure. Hope you feel better soon.

In 2019 when I was first diagnosed, I had Adrimycin/Cytoxan (red devil). The very first dose put me in the hospital. It almost took me completely out. I ended up not having any further infusions with that drug. My oncologist changed it up to Taxol and I tolerated that better. He switched it up again after 6 rounds to carboplatin and I tolerated that well too. In remission for about 16 months and it came back, treated with Trodelvy, which worked great. Now I'm in an entire other stage of everything...
I wish you the best and much success with your treatment 😊

My side effects from "red devil" were nausea, hair loss, pre-existing neuropathy got a little bit worse, food tasted either gross or like nothing, and fatigue during days 5-11 of each 21 day cycle. This was the 2nd time I've undergone chemo and I had read and heard so many bad things about "red devil." I had carboplatin and paclitaxel the first time I had chemo and I was way sicker with all kinds of side effects from that combo. For me "red devil" was easy to deal with in comparison to my first bout of chemo.

I took "red devil" and I experienced fatigue (worst days were 2-4 for me), hair loss, and loss of appetite. It was done the 1st 2 months of chemo but the chemo they continued with didn't drain me the way devil did. Hardest thing for me was the change to what I could do but that could have also just been beginning chemo in general. Remember to swish/drink while getting it. Helps protect your teeth. Best of luck!!
