Considering oncoplastic surgery (breast conserving) with a reduction but I’m small already and will lose an entire cup size… I don’t want to lose that much are there options?? The lump size they are removing was 5mm but drs can’t feel it during exams due to TCHP chemo before hand. I have 2 more rounds to go! I also have axillary LN involvement they will need removed

When considering breast cancer surgery options, it's important to know that a lumpectomy (breast-conserving surgery) removes the tumor and a small amount of surrounding tissue, while preserving most of your natural breast. The amount of tissue removed depends on factors like:

- Tumor size and location
- Overall breast size
- Number of tumors
- Lymph node status
- Your general health If you're concerned about breast size after surgery, discuss these options with your surgical team:

- Skin-sparing techniques
- Nipple-sparing approaches
- Breast reconstruction options
- Oncoplastic surgery techniques that reshape remaining tissue

Remember that your personal preferences matter in this decision. While lumpectomy offers shorter recovery time (about two weeks) compared to mastectomy, it's essential to work with your healthcare team to find the approach that best balances your medical needs with your aesthetic goals.

I had a lumpectomy plus onoplastic reduction in both sides. My breasts are smaller now but are not a perfect match. But not a significant change in appearance. I’m grateful for the reduction and the removal of tissue that could potentially develop more hormone receptor positive tumors.
