My chemo was TCH 6 rounds scheduled at 3 weeks apart, as well! The protocols are long but effective. I am now 5 years out of active treatment and so far, so good! Hugs!

Yes, to all the above- and I gave up on tissues, they just weren't up to the job. Instead I went with the Vanity Fair brand dinner napkins, they are larger and thicker, but still soft and absorbent. The good news is once chemo is done, this is one of the side effects that clear up within just a few weeks as your platelet counts improve.
Do keep your team up to date on this though, I had to have my sessions postponed a couple of time because the numbers were too low. We need our platelets- they are what helps the blood clot. At the same time, my red blood cells were taking a pretty hard hit as well, and those are the oxygen carriers. So there was incredible fatigue. Hang in there!

Yes, many people experience nosebleeds during chemotherapy. It's particularly common because chemo can lower platelet counts and cause hair loss in nasal passages, making the nose more susceptible to bleeding. You're already taking great steps with the humidifier and saline spray!

Yes, many people experience nosebleeds during chemotherapy. It's particularly common because chemo can lower platelet counts and cause hair loss in nasal passages, making the nose more susceptible to bleeding. You're already taking great steps with the humidifier and saline spray!

Here are additional tips to help control nosebleeds:
- Apply petroleum jelly just inside your nostrils
- Try using Vicks VapoRub under your nose at bedtime
- Avoid blowing your nose too hard
- Limit use of NSAIDs like ibuprofen or aspirin If you do get a nosebleed:
1. Pinch your nostrils together (the soft part)
2. Lean slightly forward
3. Hold for a full 10 minutes without checking
4. If bleeding continues, apply an ice pack to the bridge of your nose

Contact your doctor if you experience frequent nosebleeds or if bleeding won't stop, as this could indicate low platelet counts that may need attention.
