Evelyn, check with your oncologist, if you are no longer in their care, share your concerns with your PCP. They can get the ball rolling for imaging, so you can have peace of mind, and get answers/relief. There are a lot of reasons why someone could have pain in the center of their chest. Gentle hugs!
I was having pain in my sternum for a year before my diagnosis. I contributed it from coughing and my physical job . A year later I injured myself 2 weeks after my lumpectomy and went to the ER . They did a CT scan and my sternum was full of cancer so I believe my cancer was there for at least a year before diagnosis. Of course, I suppose any radiation to this area could cause pain there .
