I had my baseline dexascan and labs this week. So I'm slated to start Arimidex on Sunday. Baselines were for Zometa. I could not tolerate letroxole or Aromasin. I've gone a year without. But now I feel I need to at least try it while I'm healthy and strong.
Help! What are typical side effects for you? Thanks
I have pain in my right upper arm and shoulder. I take gabapentin for this and it helps most of the time. I also have hot flashes from hell. I seem to have fewer of them the last couple of months. When I do have one, it can last a couple of hours and my head sweats the whole time. I can have several of these a day. I keep a golf towel with me most of the time. I just finished five years of anastrozole. I am going to see if I can stop soon, but when he first prescribed it, it was for three years, then he changed it to five. The newest research advises it be used for ten! Yuck!

I take exemestane had no problem
My bones hurts and the swelling and pain below my knees don't go away, but I don't want to stop Letrozole. I'll give it another chance π
Just last month, I stopped taking anastrozole because my legs got so weak. After being off of it for a few weeks, per my oncologists advice, they were already better and they started me on a different medication called Exemestane.
