My cancer ( detected on routine screening) was on lt side 7 mm, which required mastectomy but rt side had a type called lobular carcinoma in situ which would have needed excision and monitoring. Not infrequently after surgery they discover more and have to go back for more surgery. I wanted to be done in as few surgeries as possible, and not worry about more mammograms showing early or advanced tumor. Wish you the best
