I am using penguin colds capping and am finishing 16 rounds of AC-T chemo tomorrow! Yay..I am 64 yrs old and a hair model so I thought I would try it.I have lost 70 percent of my hair but still have a full scalp covering and down to my waist in back.It is very thin but most can't tell I have cancer and in chemo unless I tell them.Still have too lashes and some eyebrows...but nothing else🙈
Cold capping for this regime is 1 hour before infusion and 5 hours post infusion...that was the hardest part really...the cold is not that bad.
My hair started growing back these past 3 months on taxol, and it's still the same dark brown wirh a bit of gray.
I paid for the white glove service as the caps have to be changed every 25 minutes. It's 550$ plus 140$ for dry ice...every darn week.
Plus you have 440$ in rental fee monthly.
I know of 5 major insurances who now cover the cost...mine included...I was very surprised because everyone told me they didn't.I have been paying the cost out of pocket ( 14k total) and I felt if I had the means,I really wanted to save my hair! Have spiked with my insurance and they have agreed to pay!
It will take 6 years for my hair to be thick and long again...quite honestly...I'm not sure I'm going to care by then.
I had a great experience with capping and would really recommend to those who are motivated.

Trupti,
It was in a conversation with my carrier rhat I found out about the others,I didn't write them down but I remember :Anthem Blue cross,Blue Shield, and a few others.
I have western medical advantage as I reside in California.
It actually only matters if YOURS covers it,give them a call and push for what you want if you have to.Insurance companies don't like to pay up but if you make a strong case they may! Good luck
