Sue10, I found your story very interesting. My husband had a mild covid infection - no cancer involved - and about two weeks later got shingles. Sounds like shingles can attack either way.

My oncologist said I definitely should get the covid booster while on chemo. Even if I didn't get a full response from my depressed immune system, I'd still get some extra protection and definitely would want to do anything I could to avoid covid.

So the best answer is the same as before: ask your own oncologist.

My friend in North Carolina said her dr said no Covid booster for bc, it can cause proliferation of bc cells, I hope that’s wrong cause I had 2 boosters and 3rd shot. God bless

I would get a second opinion from my breast surgeon and medical oncologist also.

My sister in law, dealing with BC, got one of the Covid shots early on and came down with shingles.

There were 23 people in the L.A. area, including her, at the time, going to the same
acupuncturist as they all had gotten shingles after the Covid vaccine.
