Xeloda (Capecitabine) is a prescription drug approved by the FDA to treat metastatic breast cancer. It can be used on its own in cases resistant to paclitaxel and an anthracycline-containing regimen, or in combination with docetaxel after failure of previous anthracycline-containing therapy.

- Diarrhea
- Fatigue
- Weakness
- Hand-and-foot syndrome (redness, swelling, and pain on palms and soles)
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Abdominal pain

Serious side effects can include:
- Severe diarrhea
- Heart damage
- Kidney failure
- Liver problems
- Blood cell disorders
- Potentially fatal skin infections
