My breast cancer treatment started with a mastectomy and then a few months of wound vacuums to help keep incisions closed, then into radiation for 5 weeks. Hi Annie, it really can be confusing! Check through your paperwork, and see if there was a Nurse Navigator assigned to you. They are a great resource for getting questions answered and things explained, thoroughly, in terms patients can understand. If you don't see that listed, call on Monday, and see if you can get that information- they are very helpful!
You are very welcome. Please ask them for a copy of OncotypeDX RS(recurrence score) and keep it because sometimes they may forget and add additional unnecessary treatment when risks overweight benefits . I was told my cancer came back but when she told me my score I told her that score wasn’t mine. It belonged to the next waiting room so stay vigilant for your own medical history/records.
