I used the saline nasal spray- Little Noses, keeping the area moist helps the sores heal. I did Taxotere, which is in the same family as Taxol, and it keep my red blood cells, and platelet counts low. You need the platelets to clot, so my bloody nose would just want to go on and on. I gave up on tissues, they were too flimsy, the blood would just soak through to my fingers (Not a good look) but the Vanity dinner napkins (sold at Walmart, etc,) were sturdy enough to handle the job, and still soft. Another issue is that these come on fast! Along with the hair on our head, we often lose the nasal hairs as well- so there is nothing to slow the flow down! The good news is, that once chemo is over, as long as you keep using the saline spray- it heals and clears up pretty fast. Hang in there, this too shall pass! Hugs!
