Love you all, we all have a bit of info to share💖💖💖😋
a lot of good answers already, so I won't repeat, but will just add:
Get a second opinion!
If you don't "jive" with your medical team, switch. This is our journey and having someone on the medical team that isn't supportive or there for the right reasons needs to be changed.
(as explanation, my initial medical oncologist was more interested in her research than me as a patient, and was treating me like a lab specimen)
If you're not happy with your doctors, find new ones. You have to be happy and be comfortable with the care you're getting.
Me:
Do: advocate for yourself
Dont: be afraid to ask questions about anything (sex , depression, bowel movements , relationshios) no questions are dumb .. lots of love my sisters💖💖💖
Take it one step at a time. Be an advocate for yourself. Rest. Ask your doctors to explain what will happen for your treatment. My personal journey was I did not goggle breast cancer articles. I waited till my surgeries were finished and I was ready to learn more. That was how I dealt with everything and accepted help. I had to explain to my family that I could not be there with them until I was better. I had to stay home and recover. They understood and its ok to take care of yourself.
DO advocate for yourself! DO practice self care! DO accept help, ie... meals, shopping, vacuuming (my sister came every day) 😉 DON'T consult Dr. Google and DON'T GIVE UP!
