Post Menopause Oncologist Is Recommending Arimidex Or Tamoxifen? Has Anyone Taken Arimidex?
Hello looking for your feedback on Arimidex? Thoughts? Thanks. Terry
I was on Arimidex for 5 years, and a year later I was diagnosed with breast cancer in my other breast. Oncologist changed me to Exemestane and I have been taking it for two years. No side effects other than mild joint aches.
In the beginning I had hot flashes & soreness in my joints with some fatigue but now I have no hot flashes & little fatigue & some soreness have been on almost 2 years not bad for me I hope this helps 🤗
I was on that and I hurt all the time. My bones ached bad in my legs. I have been on every one of the pills. The only ones that do not bother me is Tamoxifen. My Dr wants me on it for 10 years.
@A MyBCTeam Member Hi Tamoxifen can be used for both pre- and post-menopausal women :)
I have been taking anastrozole (armidex) since the end of May and have tolerated it well. A few side effects but nothing severe yet! But I am also doing aerobics / strengthening classes twice a week and treadmill/bike one or two other days a week which is keeping me in shape and moving. I just had my annual right side mammogram (left is gone), and also the first one since the diagnosis and it was negative for any cancer. Yay!
