Preparing For Exchange Surgery

Preparing For Exchange Surgery

I'm told the recovery process is way easier for the exchange to implant surgery than it was for mastectomy. Any advice going into it? What is a realistic view of downtime/when to be able to lift over 5 lbs, etc.?

Thanks in advance!

I agree. It was a piece of cake compared to other surgeries.

This is so interesting. No t-rex arms? It seeems to vary a lot based on surgeon. I want to be cautious not to do too much too soon. I do have a toddler- he wont like momma not carrying him!

The exchange surgery was indeed much easier for me. Barely any pain. I think I had lifting and exertion restrictions for about a month.

The exchange surgery is much easier. I would definitely reach out to your surgeon/nurse and ask about post op precautuons. Mine only had limitations for 2 weeks.
