In November after a long year dealing with nodules and goiter. I had a complete thyroidectomy. I was told one of the nodules I had was follicular thyroid cancer. Does anyone know of any research on thyroid disease after radiation for bc?

My thyroid biopsy said no cancer...but once they got it out, it was.
Hope this isn't the case for you!!!

I, too, have developed thyroid issues since my battle with BC. My endocrinologist wondered if radiation could have caused it but my rad onco said no way. I am undergoing more tests to try and figure it out but at least she doesn't think it's thyroid cancer.

Keisha, tamoxifen caused me to have Uterine cancer. I just can't win, lol. I'm not on anything now, which concerns me, but I have osteoporosis and really don't want to take anything that would cause that to get worse.

I just found out I have thyroid disease. I asked the question if radiation could have caused it also. My Dr. Said maybe, but would not elaborate on the question at all.
