I stopped getting manicures and pedicures after chemo because most spas don’t use clean supplies, they simply sterilize them in alcohol. I didn’t want to take a chance. I’m thinking of buying my own supplies because I miss the pedicures for sure!

You’re right Amy, it’s not worth it. I try my best to take care of my feet at home. I use a foot scrub, keep my toenails trimmed and polished.

Some types of chemo causes the nails to lift off the nailbed. I kept gel on my nails throughout treatment. But now after I have had trouble with both finger and toes. I have had 3 ingrown toenails that needed the procedure from a podiatrist. And fingernails are very brittle and not the same as before.
