Did anyone do lipo filling in addition to implants? I had a mastectomy of my left breast with reconstruction. Then had an implant put in the right side to match. The right side is a little too large. We are going to exchange for a smaller implant, but my surgeon suggested also taking fat from my stomach and putting it in the breast to get the rounded/fuller look at the top to match the reconstructed breast, since my natural breast doesn't have the fullness at the top.

I'm concerned about… read more

Alyson - I will try to find the research on this. I looked into initially- and ultimdecided against it. It’s slot to go through for results that aren’t permanent and definitely not risk free ( especially in the breast). Also liposuction of the belly ( or anywhere for that matter ) can leave it permanently lumpy and cause the fat cells to redistribute 😱. I would also be cautious with the radiation in the breasts.

I had “fat grafting” aka lipo filling almost two months ago. It was an outpatient procedure and (unfortunately) I can’t tell any difference in my stomach. In my foob, yes. The healing was quick, I was ready to get going again in about 2 days. This was my first “revision” after my BMX so I wanted to be sure I took enough time off work, so scheduled 3 weeks of FMLA - was BORED out of my mind before the end of the first week.

Ugh. It won’t let me edit the typos. Ultimately decided against it - it’s a lot to go through *

@A MyBCTeam Member it's not really a huge deficit, and since the breast we are considering it for moves (unlike the reconstructed one), essentially, I could always use a push up on that side if I needed it. When wearing a bathing suit, strapless top, etc., and naked, it is noticeable. If I have a bra with any support, it's not so noticeable. Now....I don't know if it will stay that way when we exchange for a smaller implant. That may make the deficit larger, but I hope not!

I agree. But the lipo is the same -
Just really consider all the risks ( health wise). I sent you some info. It’s a bigger decision than they make it sound. 💖💖💖. We looked at it for the edge near the chest bone where it’s concave from the implants - definitely not to create an entire breast. Just a few cc’s( 100 or less). Very minimal. So glad I decided against it. Hope you find your decision. Is it a huge deficit between the two sides?
