Has anyone gotten a second Oncotype test done? My pathology report shows Stage 1a, grade 2, 100% ER positive, PR negative, HER2 negative, low mitotic rate and no vascular activity, node negative, yet my Oncotype score was 35. My onco dr. was as surprised as I was. Had bilateral mastectomy. Of course, suggesting chemo. I was the picture of health before this and now concerned about the long term side effects of chemo.
I think it can be done as long as there are samples of the tumor available. How long can after surgery can you start chemo? I had a lumpectomy, and started chemo a month later. I had BMX after chemo because my margins were not clear, nevr had any genomic tests done because I had nodal involvement and was premenopausal.
I though the Mammaprint had to be done immediately following surgery. My onco dr. didn't have the oncotype test done until 6 weeks after surgery and never pursued the Mammaprint.
Can you get a mammaprint done? its supposed to be more accurate
I guess you can have as many oncotype tests you want, the question is " who's gonna pay for it?" It's not cheap, more than $5000.
