There is a subspecialty within massage therapy, covering both the physical limitation/ needs of those enduring chemo and, equally important, hygiene requirements. Make sure the therapist has this extra certification.
I searched and searched, ultimately finding a therapist at our local assisted living facility who held this additional certification. It was great.

I had them by a licensed PT who had the additional cert. to do so. It is helpful and felt so much better. 12 session and they taught me how to do them at home.
@A MyBCTeam Member good to hear!!! I need one so bad!!
Just a relaxing massage. Ive heard that you shouldn't get massages until you're done with chemo treatments and then I've heard that as long as it's an oncology massage it's ok.
@A MyBCTeam Member I had massage only after chemo. Only because I had awful side effects. I would have loved it. I wouldn't do any deep tissue. Definitely talk to your oncologist to be sure your chemo will not harm or damage your skin from massage.
