Yup. Tamoxifen can cause fibroids and thickening. I chose to have a hysterectomy because I was having very heavy periods - at 51 years old! The D&C's before the hysterectomy weren't that painful for me. But the hysterectomy was rough.

I had the endo biopsy and d and c two yrs ago. If they think my lining is thick again, I may just do an ablation. Then hopefully my periods will stop. I am 48

@A MyBCTeam Member, I had a total hysterectomy in 2012 and recovery was not bad at all. Mine was not laparoscopic, I was cut from navel to pelvic bone. With only removing tubes and ovaries, I'm sure yours will be done laparoscopically which is even easier to recover from. My daughter had it done 1 1/2 yrs ago and did great. I'm sure you will too, my friend. Praying for you! 💗💗💗

They went straight to hysterectomy because my biopsy showed atypical complex hyperplasia - the treatment is hysterectomy because if left untreated it will turn into cancer - I had an area that was more thick then rest of uterus so they pinpointed that for the biopsy and hit the pre cancer cells - for that I feel lucky! Hysterectomy was not painful, it does feel Awkard for a week or so and I was tired for a good three weeks. Back to work full time after two. I bounce back pretty quick usually, but the fatigue for three weeks after was real for me - I could work though it though. It's such a common surgery these days - I would not worry about it at all. Take it out of there is a concern over cancer. The d and c pathology will set your direction.

I now take Effexor for the night sweats and hot flashes and it's manageable
