I am worried about excessive weight gain I struggle with my weight now.
Thank you for that info @A MyBCTeam Member I did not know that. I have been a veggie for 26 years and today funnily enough have been researching about fruits and soya that can contain forms of oestrogen. I will take a look at the website, thank you.

So, a veg south beach type diet can be done according to Livestrong. I'm inclined to keep soy to a minimum if you're cancer was estrogen sensitive, as the consensus continues to change on whether phytoestrogens have an impact on BC cells. One exception is fermented soy ( tempeh, miso)-seems fine. I limit my vegetarian daughter's soy for obvious reasons.
And here's a site that has some ideas that fit: http://www.kalynskitchen.com/2006/01/south-beac...

Thank you Karenzarabi very useful info as I am post menopausal and waiting for my dx coding results as we speak, have already got the mid section - tubby bit just do not want to increase anymore.
That is also reassuring 123char that weight gain does come off again but a long period of medication ahead.
Thank you Amy Moffit think it's inevitable will try and look at diets but I am vegetarian and it's harder to diet and supplement meat/fish.
Any ideas/recipes welcomed.
.
I only gained about 7 lbs and it came right off when I stopped taking the meds, so, it will come off...
It's a problem for a lot of us, yes. If you take chemo and are Pre- or perimenopausal, it mucks will likely muck with the system and send you into quasi menopause, with all of its inherent effects.
If one has been dxed with a hormone sensitive BC, it's likely that hormone therapy will be applied. It's ability to dampen estrogen effects brings with it potential for more menopausal symptoms, including weight gain, especially in the mid section. I'm astonished how my shape has morphed.
How does it make one feel? Tubby. Is there a way around it should it occur? No question, it's a challenge, but I've heard of some success with a high-protein low-carb diet along the lines of South Beach Diet.
