I remember that mine were stubbly and strange, pointing in odd directions. How do you Define "unruly"?
A little talked about fact is that all our hair, after it grows in, will shed out at some point, which can be alarming if one is not aware. Hair growth, rest and shed is staggered, as evidenced by the occasional lash on the cheek or strands of hair in the hairbrush. As we start anew following chemo, all hair comes in at once, and will shed roughly at the same predetermined time. Head hairs lifespan is 2-7 years...boy, was I surprised when my hair had a huge shed at 24 months post chemo, thought I was losing it again. While that new thinness was discouraging to deal with, it's filled in since.
Eyelashes and brows have a 6-8 week cycle; expect your lashes to notably sparse out at that point, but recover quickly.
And this strange thinning in the early stages of hair recovery is true for hair everywhere.

All said, it will regulate, I promise. Soon, the growth will stagger out, resuming a normal, nearly unnoticeable pattern of shed and renewal.

Incidently, my hair over all has recovered its former thickness by about 70% 2 1/2 years out.

OH, thank you KarenZarabi, that is the best answer I've seen. Yes, mine were stubbly, strange and pointing in odd directions, which makes putting on mascara challenging to say the least. I will be glad when the settle down, but for the time being, I'm just glad to have some eyelashes again!!! Chemo sure does mess with a body....as done hormone therapy, but that's a whole different story!! LOL

There is hope my fell out towards the end of treatment but came back quick and full I was surprised so don't worry

I've been off chemo for 6 months and my eye lashes are now pretty much back to normal, maybe not as full as before tho.. In the beginning they pointed in all directions looking totally retarded, however they matched my eyebrows at the time so I guess at least I had symmetry lol.
