I had my first chemo treatment yesterday. They kept saying to call if you had a long list of symptoms, mostly temp over 100.4 with chills. I Havw chills but my temp is running 96.4-97.5. Even when I feel warm or get out of a hot shower I am still low. I am normally in the high 97's but no chills.
I had lost 14" of hair, and boy was it cold! The hospital where I had my treatments the Women's Guild would make hats for summer and winter and you could take as many as you wanted to. These were wonderful. I never wore hats in my life, but once I lost my hair, I was freezing all the time. They are correct when they say you loose 50% of your body heat through your head. But my hair grew back, curly and thick thick thick!!! I have cut it 3 times since it came back in March 2016. I also take high doses of vitamins that help too.
I usually wore a cotton turban hat inside all the time, not because I didn't want to be bald, but because I was cold. And I also wore a cotton sleep hat-- it seemed to regulate the temps-- wether too cold or mild hot flash.
Still feel the cold, just another side effect. You'll find the turban or hat will help and a cardigan when feeling chilly.
I experienced chills after my treatments along with crazy temperature fluctuations. As long as I did not have a fever. I just rolled with it. You can do this !
I was always hot hot hot. But not now. I am more on the cold side. Another side effect.
