Hello everyone! Does anyone know if there is a time frame that should be observed between mastectomy and radiation therapy? I have tnbc with positive lymph node and extensive lymphovascular invasion. I know the time between chemo and mastectomy was 6-8 weeks. Thanks!
Karen, home stretch, woo-hoo! It'll go by quickly...think of it like a cruddy summer job and it'll be over before you know it.
A friendly reminder: stay ahead of the burn; start applications of whatever your RO recommends right after the first does and be rigorous about it. I went nuts and faired pretty well--that is, calendula was recommended 3x's per day, so I did as much, but added in one app of straight aloe and one app of virgin coconut oil ( this last one right before bed).
Lean in, sister soldier. :0)

I was told no later then 3 months.
I had issues with my double mastectomy so my radiation kept getting pushed off. I specifically asked my oncologist surgeon about this and he said just as long as it's with in 3 months is all good
Thanks all for your input. I should be starting rads next week. As far as we all know, the last step in active treatment. Bless us all!
I am triple negative I had a mastectomy on feb 1 and started chemo feb 29. I am having my exchange surgery July 26 and I see the radiation oncologist July 28 to see when I start . But most likely sept
I am also TNBC. I had my BMX and expanders , 2 weeks ago. I expect to start chemo in a few weeks. My PSA wants to do the exchange before I start Radiation.
