My oncologist had the Mammaprint test done on my tumor tissue and it came back with a High Risk result. I wasn't expecting that at all and he suggested chemo & radiation. After discussing this with my family, I had more questions for my doctor. After speaking with him, he indicated that the results were so unexpected and that he had been contemplating having the Oncotype DX test ran on the remaining tissue. I have heard of people who did the oncotype and received an intermediate score and then had the mammoprint to give the a high or low answer since the intermediate score is so confusing. I have not heard it go the other way. I also know that there are lot of studies that show the oncotype and being a pretty reliable predictor. At 20 you are probably fine skipping chemo. I received a 14 and also skipped chemo.
I had 7 nodes+ for IDC and had the OncoDx test done. My score was 12, I know that it is for node - but my BS recommended it and my Nurse Navigator with my insurance convinced the insurance company to pay for it. That was 6 years ago and I have had no reoccurance.
My Oncotype DX score was 67%. I did 16 rounds of chemo but no radiation as I had no lymph node involvement and a BMX that successfully removed all breast tissue.
I also had the oncotype done and scored a 33, so I had four rounds of chemo.
I did OncoType (by my request) and score was 16...no chemo. I was stage 1a (7mm). Had double mastectomy & DTI and Did 33 rounds of radiation.
