I have been on Tamoxifen for about a month? I have felt like I have been on a emotional rollcoaster. At times happy, angry and sad. Does anyone else experience the same. Also insomnia.

I don't take tamoxifen but my neighbor does/did - she used Effexor to help with mood swings, although didn't love it. I had read - actually on this site - about rubbing lavender essential oil on your feet before bed to help with sleep. Was a little skeptical but it really works for me!

Wow so many comments about the negative side effects of this tamoxifen drug . I start taking it in a week or so . I hope that I end up just like LeslieEatonBaker .

OMG I was an emotional wreck. I am not a cryer normally and I was crying at commercials. I finally called my doctor and said no more. Plus I was having headaches that nothing touched. I would wake up in middle of night from said headaches. My oncologist finally did blood work to see where exactly my hormone levels were with menopause because they had me as perimenapase (I was having regular periods still in January before hysterectomy and the. Cancer diagnose April 1) and because I am 55. Turns out blood work showed I was definitely post menopause and could be on anestrolze (spelling). As soon as I stopped taking tamoxifen within a couple of days moods were back to normal and headache went away!

YES!! I expressed my concerns with my oncologist and decided to not take it. My PR and ER percents are 3% and 5% so there isn't much of a "reward". He offered 2 other options; Zoladex or do nothing. We opted for the do nothing and I must say I am so much happier!
