I was having bad stomach cramps so I started taking Omeprazole with the Tamoxifen. I talked to my Onc about what was going on & he didn't want me on Omeprazole forever so suggested I try taking it in the AM instead of the PM since my stomach would almost always have something in it during the day. It seemed to work out for a couple weeks, but now the stomach cramps are back, although not quite as bad as before. Anyone else have that same side effect?
Cashulman- I'm a retired dental hygienist. Dry mouth greatly contributes to tooth decay because saliva keeps food moving and off the teeth. I think that hormone blocker like tamoxifin and Femarra [which I'm on} can contribute to perio disease.For dry mouth all of the biotine are great. There is toothpaste, mouth wash, gum,etc. The best thing to do for perio disease is floss, floss, floss. The dentist should prescribe Periodx or something similar. I am suffering with dry mouth and mouth ulcers caused by Ibrance/ Femarra. I under stand your distress. I hope this helps in some way. Hugs, Marty.
I have been having bad stomach cramps in the afternoon and trying to figure out what I was eating to cause them. Maybe Tamoxifen is the culprit!
Hmm...I have been on Tamoxifen for about a year now and have been suffering some stomach issues as well. At first I figured it was just my IBS flaring up so went to see the specialist who put me on omeprizole, which worked fine for awhile and was told I could stop once the symptoms subsided, which I was grateful for because I don't want to have to take that for a long period of time. ...but the stomach issues continue, and I've had all kind of scans and probs. My fear then turned to ovarian cancer... how does one really know if they have this? ...it's my new unfortunate obsession. ...but, I never even gave it any thought that all my stomach issues could be contributed to tamoxifen! Will have to look into this further, would be great to know that that's all it is. :)
I have been on for one year now and no stomach cramps. Hot flashes increased at first but seem to being slowing down. I have noticed an I anxiety kind of feeling that just overtakes me on occasion. Argh! And has any one found they are having teeth issues. I am a deligent in my teeth care and since I have been on tamoxifin I have had three cavities and they say I need deep cleaning cause my gums are on verge of periodontal disease. It seems really odd that it would be associated with Tamoxifin, but that is the only big change in the last years. So I thought I would just throw it out there and see if anyone else has had this problem....oh what about dry mouth?
@A MyBCTeam Member @A MyBCTeam Member Do either of you find that the longer you take the tamoxifen the worse the fatigue is? I am having a really hard time with it as time goes on.
