Any Premenopausal Er/Pr+ Ladies On Ovarian Suppression And AI(Femara, Etc)?
Looking just to have a place to talk about side effects. I am 33 and have been getting Lupron shots since June and started taking Femara shortly after that. I know much of what I am dealing with for side effects(muscle and bone aches, hot flashes, fatigue) come with menopause. Also had a bone density test done and am showing pre osteoporosis so may start bone infusions for that. I know this combination of drugs is newer for our age group so just wanted to see if anyone would be willing to⦠read more
I think it's the same bone pain when I was on chemo. My bone pain was 8 before I had massage. Yesterday I had 15 minutes massage I feel good after and my pain became 4.
I have a friend who is 10 years out and she said when she started doing lights weights and riding an excercise bike her bone density test improved.
I have been on anastrozole since July. I started out with really bad back and bone pain, primarily at the top of my left hip bone and through my back and in my hands, especially in the morning after waking. I experienced trigger finger in both ring fingers. Those side effects have subsided quite a bit. I exercised a lot before cancer and during the treatments and after surgery when I could. Walking and exercise really seems to help with the hip and bone pain. Also, I've noticed when I sit for any extended length of time my legs get stiff. So, walking and yoga have been really helpful and other weight bearing exercise to try to keep up my bone density. I had a bone scan last week and will need to find out the results to see if I need to take something for that.
Well Erin, I'm a bit older than most of you "girls". Im 65 post menopausel & I've been on Femera for about 3 months. I have noticed a little more knee pain, but I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis several years ago. My bone density was down a bit & oncologist suggested Fosamax or Zomig (which is given IV every 6 months). I opted for the IV rather than oral meds. Had the first one in October , a little bone pain next day but not even bad enough to take tylenol. Much milder than after the Neulasta shots! So far so good! Guess I've been lucky so far. Still working 3-4 days a week & taking care of the house & yard. Just takes me a little bit longer to get some of the chores done LOL Good luck to you all.
I have been on anastrozole generic for arimidex. I am 56, so post menopause. I am having the same side affects, but have only been on the drug for 2mos. I take turmeric to help with the joint pain and swelling
