I remember those days feeling like their was no end in site to everything I had to do. I'm 3 yrs post treatment and on the daily Tamoxifen for 5 yrs. But the scar tissue from all the surgery is a daily thing, too--having to stretch it, etc. and the continual strange zaps of pain or tingling from the nerves trying to repair themselves. Then you have to consider the diet and exercise you have to do to keep yourself healthy and in that profile of a person who remains cancer free.

But at it's worst, I always consider that I could have had all this taken away with a poor diagnosis--instead, I'm cancer free. Take it one day at a time. Have a pity party--you've earned it! Then raise your face to the sun and and keep moving forward. :-) God Bless!

I am three and a half years out and I too take arimidex for five years. For me no it has not ended, my understanding is this is my new normal. But I had IDC and I could be dead. So it's not so bad considering. Sounds harsh but breast cancer is a harsh desiese that killed thousands every year.I just went through another surgary for reconstruction on the twenty eighth of September and it has not turned out very well after the swelling went down. So I am done for awhile maybe for good. Things are so very different now. It is what it is.

Breast cancer will be a part of your life from now on. Taking a pill and being checked are part of your life now. With arimidex , you may need an antidepressant. Minor detail for insurance to keep C away!! Just look at all the sisters you have now!! πŸ’šπŸ’š

When I feel over Whelan`ed I try to remember if I wasn't doing these things I could not be here anymore. So I go outside in my back yard and listen to the birds, watch the leaves fall off the trees, feel the sun on my face and tell myself how lucky I am to still be able to enjoy these things. Trust me I am not Alice in Wonderland sometimes there are tears going down my cheeks when I tell myself how lucky I am so I sit till the tears are gone and I tell the world thank you for letting me be a grain of sand in this world for as long as I can. I am taking the arumidex for three years now and am hearing it my change to ten. So just on foot in front of the other.
