I have been on Tamoxifen for 2 plus years. My onco wants me to switch to an aromatase inhibitor for another 2 plus years. My other option is to stay on Tamoxifen for a total of 10 years. Anyone have any thoughts or experience on this topic?
@A MyBCTeam Member - there are 3 Aromotase Inhibitor so why don't you ask your doctor if you could try another one instead of the femara/letrozole.
He did want me to take Tamox, I said no, I have trouble with my platelets and I know that one causes Blood clots.
I don't take them, they would of killed me. They watch me close. Although I don't go back to my onco for a year, mammo in Dec 6 months, instead of year.
Can I ask what are you taking now? My onco said I had NO CHOICE. Seemed to me that there would be an alternative?
I was on 2 different ones and had to go off, my Blood Pressure shot to 200/100, I dropped down to 109 lbs. had severe pain and nausea, stomach pain. I cannot take them.
