I had horrible side effects from the tamoxifen and could not find any help either. Im sorry I know u were looking for answers just wanted to let u know your not alone.
I am also on Tamoxifen. I am also emotional. The weight issue does upset me. I either ride my bike 12 miles or walk 6 miles. I alternate days. I have not lost a pound and I have been doing it for a couple months.
I felt like a Bit__ and also very emotional when I started taking tamoxifen and had to finally start taking an antidepressant. And losing weight for me has been impossible! I feel like any anti -hormonal medication effects our bodies metabolism and makes it difficult to lose weight or least that's what I tell myself. But, do I go to the gym - the answer is no! I know that going to the gym would make me feel better and also help me lose weight!
When I first started Tamoxifen I cried and flushed them all down the toilet. Could have been a Tamoxifen-related mood swing, could have been a cancer-related mood swing. Who knows? I refilled my prescription and took them for another year or so, I switched to something else after I had my hysterectomy/oophorectomy.
My itchiest body parts are my feet, and I put face mask on them when they get bad (it's the only thing that worked).
I also gained about 20 pounds but I don't care. I walk, do yoga, eat well and it doesn't make one fig of difference.
quit sugar and go low carb, eat lots of good fats. you will lose weight.
