I don't think it's out of the question...also be aware that what you think is a D might not be...your PS will guide you. I "used to" wear a 30DDD 32DD size bra, and when I first met with my PS he said "you are a large C, small D"...so now that I am in expansion process...I am probably more on the DD side according to him and I am fairly "larger" than what I thought was a DD before. You might be completely happy with a C or small D once you actually start the process. And don't worry about being "vain" this is what we like to call a "silver lining". I found mine yesterday...I am going to have my PS take some fat out of my stomach to graft on top of my permanent implants. I have NEVER been able to get rid of the little "pouch" I have even when I was 110 lbs, hopefully that will fix this!!

Also be aware that an implant is much heavier than a real breast- even one with a smaller implant.

Very accurate info. I know it is hard to hear, but you really should try not to focus on a particular cup size. Mind you, I was focused on going bigger than my natural C & I kept hearing what I just said. CC's simply do not correlate with cup size - there are too many variables, like the comment you reference above. I am 5'10" and am "lean". I was only able to expand to 450 based upon the 400 cc expander they put in.
This was as large as I could go based upon the width of my rib cage. When I learned this, I automatically thought I'd be disappointed with the size. I had a 495 cc silicone implant put in on the mastectomy side, and that brought me to a DD. I've read of other women who were a C with 600 cc's. Just pick a PS that you trust and communicate clearly what you are hoping for. Managing expectations is part of. A PS's job. Trust that he/she will get you as close as he/she can within your parameters. After all, their profession is based on making people look better. The best result for you IS the best result for them, too.

I spoke to a lady this week who used to work for a plastic surgeon for 4 years. The only reason she is not still working for him is because she moved to a different town. I thought I would share what she told me: "They will measure your chest and pick the tissue expander that fits your breast. They come in different widths and that correlates to how much you can fill the expander with. The more narrow, the smaller the expander and implant, and the wider your natural breast, the bigger the expander and implant. If you have a narrow breast and the skin doesn't stretch well after surgery, that will limit what they can do. So it's kinda hard to say. But it can be a possibility to go larger than you were during reconstruction. If it was just augmentation I would say yes because you usually go up two cup sizes with an augmentation. Reconstruction is harder to predict though."

Thanks so much for your answers. I am trying not to get fixated on a particular size. I know it may be impossible to go as large as I want. I keep telling myself that if I can't, then I won't have to go out and buy new clothes. At least I can still wear all the sweaters I have knitted (that took a lot of time) and the clothes I have sewn over the years( that also took a lot of time). There is a silver lining everywhere.
