Had severe reaction to Taxotere and had three (progressively) worse treatments. My mother also had same reaction as did maternal relative. Genetic connection? Hmm. Was changed to "red devil" adriomycin (oops, spelling!) for two treatments and am now on taxol for 12 consecutive weeks. The first two were in conjunction with cytoxin and every three weeks. Took otc generic loperamide to control diarrhea and probiotics, both with DR. okay. "Red devil" was tough, but taxol not bad. My theory is that I will put up with whatever it takes to keep my prognosis good!
