Does anyone out there have or had a tumor that had mixed expressions? My tumor, apparently, tested ER+ 90% on my original biopsy. Then, when I switched breast surgeons, they retested the same specimen and it tested as a triple negative breast cancer. I then had the sample sent to John Hopkins for a third opinion and their results showed ER+90%. After my BMX, I had the .7mm left of my tumor tested and that tested triple negative. Oncotype is for hormone positive cancer. Not for her2+ or triple net.
Well I did neoadjuvant thereapy. chemo first, then radiation, and I am taking tamxifen now for the estrogen positive side. They said that treated would not have been any different.
@A MyBCTeam Member i did not have the oncotype test done, but I think that's for women with small tumors? I could be wrong...mine was 6 cm.
So what will the treatment be, is it the same for both tumors?
Crazy, huh? So yeah, it seems that part of my tumor is ER+PR-, her2-, and some parts are triple negativ across the board. but the new doc tested off of the same slides from the original biopsy so i'm skeptical even though John Hopkins ran it a third time. I'm not sure mine has a name like yours though. I've googled and come up with nothing. thank you for your input. At least I'm not alone.
