Hi. Exemestane with ovarian Suppression has been recommended for me. I have been told I can either get a shot once a month or have my ovary removed. Oncologist truly had no opinion on which to do. Waiting to hear back from GYN. Is anyone else receiving this treatment and if so any advice on ovary removal vs. monthly shot? .... (I'm having another lymph node disection on Wednesday so Ovary could be removed at same time) and I'm also assuming the shot would be once a month for forever....
If you are ER+ removing overies can help but they are not the only organs to emitt Estregen. I have the shot and take a pill everyday as well. so far so good
Should have said this too; I have no ovaries but my estrogen level is that of a pregnant woman......
Do you know the name of the shot? I take a monthly shot of lupron along with Arimidex daily.
