I have dyed my hair, got manicures and pedicures with no problems. I also have got two tattoos. Both on my non cancer side. No problems what so ever.

I've heard mani's and pedi's are okay. just watch the cutting on the mani's if you have a lymphedema potential. No tats on the lymphedema side either. Lymphedema is really nasty, so avoid it. I was also told hair color after you are through with all chemo drugs. (the daily pill after treatment doesn't count)

I waited for several months after completing chemo before I got a pedicure. My skin was so sensitive the pedi actually hurt during chemo. And you don't want an infection! I had one after the last infusion and it was pretty scary. My hair came in white but I am not coloring it.. Using a good product from Whole Foods sounds like a good recommendation. I did get the tattoos. They were done at my PS office. If you wanted to do them I would go to a very reliable place like I did. I had no trouble with them. It was at least a year after completing chemo and 6 mo after the nipple surgery.

Well, doesn't everything cause cancer. I was told you should not color hair while doing chemo but, duh! had no hair. you should not be at any higher risk with manicures and pedicures if you are going to a place that is sanitary. I had not thought about the tattoos and lymphedema but, I would think that to be risky.

Oh and I also got a couple tattoos. I just watch out for the lymphedema...
