Over two years after my breast is hurting more. My last mammogram was excruciating and physical exams by doctors are painful. All of the areas where I received radiation are very sensitive to touch, my neck, arm pit, and even my back on that side. Does this ever go away?? It seems like radiation is the gift that keeps on giving.

You hit the nail on the head,my friend. Radiation damage does not stop when you stop being exposed to it. It continues for many years, in my case, for twenty years. However, I was completely unaware of this with no pain or tenderness. I would suggest you make an appt with your RO for a consultation to see if there is a problem there that can be treated. Best wishes💗

Yes! Two years later still sore. Combination of the scar tissue from the lumpectomy, removing of 22 lymph nodes, and 7 weeks of radiation. Doctors keep telling me it takes years to heal completely and be pain free. Not too happy with the "new normal!"

Also talk to your radiation oncologist. If not the answer you want get a second opinion. The medical oncologist are not as savy about the radiation and the radiation guys not as savy about the chemo
