how do you stay away from sugar its everywhere
I also have a life coach which I meet with once a week but talk or text daily. Keeps me accountable and motivated, also helps she is a vegan. She has helped me through so much these past 8 months. Would love for you all to check her blog out, but I'm not sure if I can post her blog on here.
About 7 weeks ago (after chemo) I saw a nutritionist. They have me on a anti-inflammatory diet. So hard to stay away from the sugar. But I have to look at it as a lifestyle change and want to be cancer free more than I want to take the risk. When I want to give in, I ask myself why I gave it up. Not to mention it's harder to stop eating it again than it is to just say no to it now. :)
I was never a sugar fiend and never ate candy just out of the blue but since I've been diagnosed I can't get enough sugar! It's horrible. I have read also about sugar feeding cancer and my Dr.s all tell me how bad it is but I can't help it. I figure ate this point I have stage IV cancer....what's a little chocolate gonna do? LOL
I Know For Me That When Someone Tells Me I Can'T Or Shouldn't Have Something The More I Want It. Everything In Moderation. It's Easier To Cut Sugar Out OR At Least Cut Back When You Think About It Feeding Your Cancer. Just Try And Eat Natural Sugars In Fruit And Switch To STevia. Sorry About The CAps. When I Post From My Phone That Happens:)
When I found out I had breast cancer I cut sugar out of my diet and dropped 20 lbs before I had my first surgery. It has been six months sense I started chemo therapy and I am right back on the sugar. My favorite is the dark chocolate nonperells and a scoop of vanilla ce cream from time to time but I have been able to keep the rest of the sweets at bay. I, also, have read that sugar feeds breast cancer but I can't seem to get a clear answer how it does it.
I start radiation this Thursday after almost 20 weeks of chemo therapy. It has been a month sense my last chemo treatment and with Easter next Sunday I am not bringing extra sweets into the house. I'm 64 and don't have kids in the house.
Just make good choices and use fruit or lower sweetened items in place of corn syrup sweetened things. Reading labels will make a big difference and slowly, hopefully, sugar won't have as strong a hold on us. I wish you the best.
