have a friend who went through same thing im going through. i aam on chemo now and who knows whats next. she had cancer removed first and then reconstruction and then on chemo. she is ok now. she had breasts removed and implants. she showed me and she has no nipples. is that how it works because i did not like that or is that what to expect.
i just want this cancer gone.
I had a BMX with immediate permanent silicone implant reconstruction. I had skin and nipple sparing so I have my own! The results are awesome!
I had reconstruction of my right breast after mastectomy. I have a saline implant. My reconstruction included a nipple made from some skin from my armpit and a tattoo of the areola. It looks very natural.
I had nipple reconstruction - it's good to have some point of focus on each breast - but they DO flatten out over time.
Many options are available when it comes to reconstruction. There are tissue sparing techniques that can preserve nipples depending on location of tumor. I was able to save my nipples while having bilateral mastectomy. Your PS can share options specific to your needs. Best of luck.
