My PS says my skin is too thin to create a nipple using the breast tissue on the reconstructed side. She said I could do the 3D tatoo, that will fade over time, or do the nipple sharing procedure. I was reading online and learned that it isn't done that often any more. I read that the graphed piece of the nipple might not "take". I would really appreciate hearing about anyone's experience with this procedure.

I do not know what nipple sharing is, but I did have a nipple built from skin from my armpit. It did take and I had a tattoo after the nipple healed. It did fade alittle, but not away, and still looks very natural.

@A MyBCTeam Member Are you happy with your nipple reconstruction? If you had the choice again, would you do it again? Are you married? Currently the only man that sees me naked is the plastic surgeon.. So, just not sure about doing this "next" step. And.. of course.. I am so tired of surgeries..
Colleen, It's like your reconstruction except that a piece of the nipple is taken from the healthy side and graphed to the reconstructed side. I'm glad you experience was a good one!
I had nipple sparing reconstruction. My nipple were spared as my cancer was far enough away that the nipples were not removed.
